Allen & Shariff served as the Commissioning Authority during the LEED Fundamental Building Systems Commissioning process for a new 230,000 SF, 3-story school building for 900 students. The project is configured to provide a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) learning environment with four distinct learning communities including classrooms, lab rooms, and conference areas surrounding a common collaborative learning space. The project also includes administrative spaces, media center cafeteria/kitchen, gymnasiums, natatorium, auditorium, health suite, staff lounge, teacher workrooms, art room, music room, various other spaces.
HVAC for this building is provided by a 900 ton chiller plant consisting of two (2) 450-ton McQuay dual compressor Maglev chillers, one (1) 900-ton double-cell draw-through cooling tower. Water circulation is accomplished through a primary/secondary pumping arrangement.
